Knot Floer Homology

Course Description: 

Introduce basic concepts and constructions of Heegaard
Floer homology and its modification to knots, knot Floer homology. Review
basic concepts of (1,1) knots, and work out examples. Examine knot Floer
homology for (1,1) knots, provide a combinatorial computation scheme.

Learning Outcomes: 

Working knowledge with Floer homologies; concrete computation of knot Floer homologies for a large class of knots; 
calcuation of further invariants such as the tau-invariant and nu-invariant for (1,1) knots. Understanding of basic concepts of Heegaard Floer homology.
