CEU and Renyi Institute won 10 millio euros SYNERGY grant

Laszlo Lovasz of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Albert-Laszlo Barabasi of CEU Department of Network and Data Science and Jaroslav Nesetril of Charles University in Prague have been awarded a six-year grant coordinated by the Renyi Institute supporting research in graph theory and network science by the European Research Council (ERC) totaling almost EUR10 million.

Kinga Tikosi won the people's choice award on the first Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition at CEU

Central European University hosted its first ever Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition on June 18. 

Hosted by the Dean of Students' Office, the competition featured presentations by 10 CEU doctoral students covering a wide range of research topics, from the cognitive processes of babies through bank bailouts to ethical farming. Each student had 180 seconds to give a compelling presentation on their thesis and its significance.
