MASTER OF SCIENCE (Msc) Mathematics and its Applications (1 year)
The CEU Mathematics Department offers a One-year Master of Science (MS) program in Mathematics and its Applications, accredited in the US, in cooperation with the Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, home of Abel Prize laureate Endre Szemerédi. In order to broaden the perspectives for students, the department collaborates closely also with the Departments of Cognitive Science and Economics, the Center for Network Science and other universities in Budapest.
MASTER OF SCIENCE (MSc) Mathematics and its Applications (2 years)
This innovative and interdisciplinary program provides students with comprehensive knowledge in the fields of pure and applied mathematics. Students may learn about central in mathematics like algebra, algebraic geometry, combinatorics, geometric topology, number theory, probability theory, partial differential equations, or topics oriented to real world problems, including significant applications related to biological, ecological, economic, industrial, political, social phenomena.
DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (PhD) IN MATHEMATICS AND ITS APPLICATIONS
This program combines traditional mathematics and contemporary applications in matters related to modern society. In a dynamic cooperation with the Renyi Institute of Mathematics, it fosters critical and creative thinking and offers doctoral students a unique academic experience and research oportunities in an international environment. Possible research topics include algebra, algebraic geometry, combinatorics, geometric topology, number theory, probability theory, partial differential equations, and their applications.
